"Wrong Place, Wrong Time"

After the bomb exploded at Havana’s Copacabana Hotel in September 1997 killing Italian tourist Fabio Di Celmo, terrorist Luis Posada Carriles, author of the crime, told The New York Times that Fabio had been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

His outrageous statement is very similar to what US President George W. Bush said Monday in reaction to the pain of students and family members of the victims of the Virginia Tech massacre where 33 died. Among the dead was the killer, Cho Seung-Hui, a 23-year-old South Korean student residing legally in the US. He committed suicide after the massacre.

"Those whose lives were taken did nothing to deserve their fate. They were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time," said Bush, using a phrase he also uses to refer to the civilians who die every day from Pentagon fire in Iraq and Afghanistan.

So, it turns out that a university campus, classrooms and a dormitory are supposed to be wrong places. What an appalling thought coming from a president!

Nothing looks more like a terrorist that another terrorist. For them the victims are always in the "wrong place."
