Venezuela to supply new documents to UN to certify that Posada is a terrorist

Caracas, 26 Apr. ABN--Venezuela will supply new documents to prove that Luis Posada Carriles is a terrorist, according to Venezuela’s foreign minister, Nicolás Maduro.
Maduro explained that the documents will be furnished to the investigation that the country has requested of the United Nations, after a U.S. federal judge ordered the release on bail of Posada Carriles.
“There are a number of new documents which we will furnish … some of which have not been revealed to the public before, to the investigatory process that we requested of the UN, said the foreign minister.
From his headquarters, Maduro said that Venezuela is awaiting an answer next week of the Antiterrorist Committee, which forms part of the UN Security Council, to then evaluate the next actions that the Venezuelan government will take with respect to the Posada Carriles case.
The foreign minister explained that the texts are related to and part of many other documents, including those that have been declassified by the U.S. government about Posada Carriles.
Through its permanent representative to the Organization of American States, Nelson Pineda Prada, Venezuela presented this Wednesday a report to continue the legal battle for the extradition of Posada Carriles. The country’s delegation spoke at the Permanent Council of the OAS, calling for an international mobilization to demand that these terrorists and their promoters not escape justice.
Venezuela formally petitioned the extradition of Posada in July 2005, as he is accused of participating in the downing of a Cubana Airlines jetliner in 1976, in which 73 people were killed.
Posada is also accused of having planned the planting of a series of bombs in Havana in 1997, one of which caused the death of an Italian tourist.
Nicolás Maduro asserted this Thursday that this case represents a “long, enduring and strong fight that we will not let up on. If this struggle takes 100 years against these terrorists, then we will go to all organizations for 100 years, to mobilize public opinion, until there is justice.”
He asserted that “sooner than later, we will win justice against terrorists like Posada Carriles, who operate at the behest of the CIA and the most sinister interests of the elite of the United States.” | |

Caracas, 26 Abr. ABN.- Venezuela aportará nuevos documentos que certifican que Luis Posada Carriles es terrorista, informó el canciller de Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.
El alto funcionario explicó que dichos documentos se aportarán a la investigación que el país ha solicitado a la Organización de Naciones Unidas (ONU), luego de que una jueza federal estadounidense ordenó la libertad provisional de Posada Carriles.
"Hay un conjunto de documentos nuevos que vamos a aportar en este proceso de investigación que hemos pedido a la ONU (...) algunos de los cuales aún no son conocidos por la opinión pública", dijo el ministro.
Desde la sede de su despacho Maduro dijo que Venezuela espera respuesta para la próxima semana del Comité Antiterrorista dependiente del Consejo de Seguridad de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), a fin de concretar las próximas acciones que desarrollará el Gobierno venezolano sobre el caso Posada Carriles
El canciller explicó que los textos "guardan relación y forman parte de muchos documentos, además de los documentos desclasificados por parte del propio gobierno estadounidense sobre Posada Carriles".
Venezuela presentó este miércoles, a través de su representante permanente ante la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), Nelson Pineda Prada, un informe para continuar la batalla legal por la extradición de Posada Carriles. La delegación nacional se pronunció en el Consejo Permanente de la OEA por una movilización internacional, a fin de no dejar impunes a estos terroristas y sus promotores.
Venezuela solicitó formalmente la extradición de Posada en julio del 2005, por estar acusado de participar en el derribo de un avión de Cubana de Aviación en 1976 en el que murieron 73 personas.
Posada está también acusado de haber planificado la colocación de una serie de bombas en La Habana en 1997, una de las cuales provocó lesiones a un turista italiano que luego le causaron la muerte.
En este sentido, Nicolás Maduro aseveró este jueves que este caso representa una 'dura lucha, fuerte y larga en donde no vamos a caer. Si cien años dura esta lucha contra estos terroristas, sus protectores o contra el terrorismo, cien años iremos a todos los organismos a movilizar a la opinión pública, hasta que haya justicia'.
Aseguró que "más temprano que tarde se logrará la justicia frente a terroristas como Posada Carriles, al mando de la CIA y los más oscuros intereses de las élites de Estados Unidos", expresó.
