US Denies Visa for Ninth Time to Olga Salanueva
by Arsenio Rodriguez After petitioning a permit request interview in January, Salanueva, together with Gerardo Hernandez’ wife Adriana Perez, was finally given an appointment on Wednesday, July 16, at the US Interest Section in Havana, reported the www.antiterroristas.cu website. Salanueva was told that her visa request had been denied for having been deported from the US and specified in writing that "this ineligibility has a permanent character." The visa request submitted by Adriana, also for the ninth time, is still pending reply from the US State Department.

Niegan por novena ocasión visa a Olga Salanueva
18 de julio de 2008 El 16/7/08 Adriana Pérez y Olga Salanueva, esposas de Gerardo Hernández y René González respectivamente, fueron citadas por la Sección de Intereses de Estados Unidos en la Habana a la entrevista que habían pedido desde enero de este año para solicitar una vez más la visa que les permita entrar a territorio de ese país y visitar a sus esposos. A Olga le fue denegada la visa por 9na ocasión por haber sido deportada de los Estados Unidos , y se le especificó por escrito que “esta inelegibilidad es de carácter permanente”. En el caso de Adriana, presentó su solicitud también por 9na. vez y quedó pendiente de respuesta. En las ocho ocasiones anteriores también le fue denegada la autorización de entrada a territorio norteamericano.

The US government denied an entry visa to Olga Salanueva for the ninth time, this time of a permanent character, thus prohibiting her from traveling to the United States to visit her husband Rene Gonzalez, one of the five Cubans who are being unjustly held in US prisons for fighting against anti-Cuban terrorist organizations based in southern Florida.
