HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 14 (acn) Although the United States has repeatedly refused to allow Adriana Perez to visit Gerardo Hernandez, she will never give up the struggle for the right to visit her husband, one of the five Cuban anti-terrorists incarcerated in the United States.

On April 10, Adriana will attend another interview with officials from the US Interest Section in Havana. Rosa Aurora Freijanes, the wife of Cuban Five, Fernando González, has also been called for the same day.

The relatives of the Cuban Five are continuing their demand of an end to the restrictions, attempts of division, and other violations of the US prison laws in the case of the Cuban Five.

Olga Salanueva, the wife of Rene Gonzalez, told ACN that she hasn’t seen him since 2000 when she was deported to Cuba, and that she has been declared ineligible for a visa for life.

The US authorities only allow the Five to be visited by their close relatives, and have exceptionally authorized other people, provided that they were acquaintances or friends before September 12, 1998, added the interviewee.

Salanueva stated that besides the considerable restriction of visits, they have been denied visits by religious personalities such as Father Botton in the case of René and Antonio, and even to the mayor of the city where Gerardo is imprisoned.

She indicated that if several years ago consular accesses were monthly, they now take place every three months.

“For these reasons, we denounce that our five companions spend months without personal contacts with the outside world, and have been denied for two years the visits of their wives and children, as happened with Ramon Labañino,” said Salanueva.

She said that, in her opinion, the US government should grant multiple visas to the relatives of the Five and not tourist visas as has happened so far,since intentions and regulations are different.

For her part, Elizabeth Palmeiro, Ramon’s wife, announced that a group of relatives, in addition to Adriana and Rosa Aurora, have been called for April 10, while others have been waiting for the granting of their entry visas since November.

La Habana, 13 mar (AIN) Aunque Estados Unidos ha negado insistentemente a Adriana Pérez la posibilidad de visitar a Gerardo Hernández, ella no renunciará al derecho de ver a su esposo, uno de los cinco antiterroristas cubanos presos en ese país.

El 10 de abril Adriana concurrirá a una nueva entrevista con funcionarios norteamericanos de la Oficina de Intereses en La Habana, adonde también ha sido citada para ese día Rosa Aurora Freijanes, compañera de Fernando González, otro de esos combatientes.

Familiares de estos reiteraron en la capital no solo el deseo de visitarlos, sino que se ponga fin a las restricciones, intentos de división y demás violaciones de las leyes penitenciarias estadounidenses en el caso de los cinco luchadores antiterroristas.

Olga Salanueva, esposa de René González, declaró a la AIN que no lo ve desde el 2000 cuando fue deportada hacia Cuba, y ha sido declarada inelegible de por vida al otorgamiento de una visa, subrayó.

Las autoridades norteamericanas solo admiten que visiten a Los Cinco sus seres queridos más allegados, y de manera excepcional han autorizado a otras personas, siempre que sean conocidos o amigos suyos antes del 12 de septiembre de 1998, abundó la entrevistada.

Puntualizó que además de limitarse considerablemente las visitas, éstas han sido negadas a personalidades religiosas como el padre Botton en el caso de René y Antonio Guerrero, e incluso a la alcaldesa de la ciudad donde está recluido Gerardo.

Precisó que si varios años atrás los accesos consulares eran mensuales, ahora se realizan cada tres meses.

Por todo ello denunciamos que nuestros cinco compañeros pasan meses sin contactos personales con el exterior, y hasta se les ha negado durante dos años que los visiten sus esposas e hijos, como pasó con Ramón Labañino, señaló Salanueva.

Opinó que el gobierno norteamericano debería otorgarles a los familiares de Los Cinco visas múltiples y no de turistas como ha ocurrido hasta ahora, pues las intenciones y regulaciones son distintas.

Por su parte, Elizabeth Palmeiro, esposa de Ramón, informó que un grupo de familiares, además de Adriana y Rosa Aurora, han sido citados para el 10 de abril, mientras otros desde noviembre están a la espera de que se les otorgue la visa.
