It began in ‘59
when Cuba came to rise
with free healthcare, education,
And a better way of life
for the very first time
the legacy of Marti was realized (was realized)

(2)
But the US and rich Cubans
couldn’t accept their defeat
in ‘61, they invaded,
to reverse their retreat
but their request - to re-oppress
the people - was denied (was denied!)

After Playa Girón, and the Cuban victory,
Miami became a “Gusano” family
The US helped them to be
as powerful as can be
They work together to turn back
all of Cuba’s histor

Planes began to fly
over Cuba´s sovereign skies,
they attacked the population,
committing genocide
through a criminal blockade
that affects all of the trade,
affecting all of Cuba,
but they fight it everyday! (CHORUS)

Cubans fight destruction
and assassination plots
planned by the CIA,
by Carriles and Bosch,
so they sent the Cuban 5 to investigate
the crimes of terror (of terror!)

The 5 sent their findings to the FBI,
saying “Stop this terrorism
coming from your coastline!” But the FBI locked them up
and threw away the key
and that’s why it’s important for
all of us to sing:

No prison walls hide Fernando or René,
No cell can stop Antonio
from what he has to say,
With Gerardo and Ramón,
they fight for truth because they must,
And as we sing this song,

y tratar de enterrarlos vivos?
Ellos no entienden que nuestros heroes

Todo comenzo en '59
cuando Cuba logro
Educación y salud publica gratuita,
una mejor forma de vida,
por primera vez
el sueno de Marti se cumplio.

Pero los EUA y los burgueses cubanos
no aceptaron la derrota,
y lanzaron su invasión en 1961,
para volver al pasado
y volver a oprimir al pueblo,
tambien fracasaron.

Después de Playa Giron y de la victoria cubana,
Miami se conviertio en la familia de los gusanos.
Los EUA los ayudaron
a ser tan fuertes como pudieran,
trabajan juntos para volver atrás en la historia.

Los aviones comenzaron a volar
sobre el cielo soberano de Cuba,
Atacaron a la población
cometiendo genocidios a traves de un
Bloqueo criminal que afecta todo el comercio y a toda Cuba,
¡pero Cuba lucha contra el todos los dias!

Los cubanos luchan contra la destrucción
y los planes de asesinato de la CIA,
Carriles and Bosch,
entonces los cubanos enviaron a los cinco heroes
a investigar los crímenes de terror.

Los cinco enviaron lo que descubrieron al FBI
diciendoles que pararan el terrorismo que viene de sus costas.
Pero el FBI los encerro
y boto la llave
y es por eso que es importante para nosotros cantar:
