Adriana Perez, Olga Salanueva and Irma González,  wives and daughter of Cuban Five prisoners, Gerardo Hernández and René González, were special guests at the UK Cuba Solidarity Campaign‚s annual candlelit vigil outside the US embassy in London, UK on Thursday.

Olga Salanueva said "I would like to give you from the depths of our hearts the regards of our families, all of the thanks that we can for the struggle that you are carrying out on our behalf"

They were joined by 15 speakers from across the UK trade union, legal and labour movement who called for justice for the Five and their families in front of four hundred protesters.
 
Representatives from UK unions including Unite, Unison, NUT, BECTU, TSSA, PCS, SERTUC and CYWU demanded that Adriana and Olga be granted visas to visit their husbands in US jails.

Messages of support were also read out from Unison General Secretary Dave Prentis, the Venezuelan Ambassador and Michael Mansfield QC. Addressing the vigil, Jeremy Corbyn Member of Parliament said „The Cuban Five are the victims of the most crass injustice and attack on the Cuban people that is imaginable anywhere in the world.‰

The peaceful demonstration marked the 11th anniversary of their unjust imprisonment in US jails.  Earlier in the week the women had been guests of Unite the Union at Labour Party conference where they addressed one of the largest meetings at the event alongside Tony Woodley and Derek Simpson, Joint General Secretaries of Unite the Union and Brendan Barber, General Secretary of the TUC and Paul Kenny, General Secretary of the GMB.

Adriana Pérez, Olga Salanueva e Irma González, esposas e hija de los cinco prisioneros cubanos Gerardo Hernández y René González, fueron invitadas especiales en la Campaña Solidaria para Cuba en el Reino Unido, en la vigilia anual realizada este jueves afuera de la embajada de Estados Unidos en Londres.

Olga Salanueva dijo: „Quisiera darles, desde lo profundo de nuestros corazones, los saludos de nuestras familias, todo nuestro agradecimiento de lo que han hecho por la lucha que están llevando a cabo en nuestro nombre.
También participaron 15 portavoces de distintos sindicatos del Reino Unido, del movimiento laboral y legal que demandaron justicia para los Cinco y sus familias en frente de cuatrocientos manifestantes.  

Representantes de los sindicatos británicos incluidos Unite, Unison, NUT, BECTU, TSSA, PCS, SERTUC y CYWU demandaron que Adriana y Olga se les garantice visas para visitar a sus maridos en las cárceles de Estados Unidos.

Mensajes de apoyo también fueron leídos por el Secretario General de Unison, Dave Prentis, el embajador de Venezuela, y el QC Michael Mansfield.

Dirigiéndose a los participantes de la vigilia, el miembro del parlamento Jeremy Corbyn dijo: „Los Cinco Cubanos son víctimas de las más garrafal injusticia y ataque al pueblo cubano que pueda imaginarse en todo el mundo.

La demostración pacífica marcó el 11vo aniversario del injusto encarcelamiento en prisiones de los Estados Unidos. A principios de la semana pasada, las mujeres fueron invitadas por Unite the Union a la conferencia del Partido Laboral donde se llevo a cabo una de las más grandes reuniones, junto con los Secretarios Generales de Unite the Union, Tony Woodley y Derek Simpson, el Secretario General de TUC, Brendan Barber, y el Secretario General de GMB, Paul Kenny.
