Dear brothers and sisters:

It has been nine years of unjust imprisonment in the U.S but it has been also nine years of beautiful struggle in which we have been able to know the power of solidarity and love.

During all this time we have met excellent human beings like you all gathered in Toronto for this Canada-U.S.A. Conference Breaking the Silence. We had also met wonderful people standing on our side all the time. Because of you, we are sure that our solitude has never been so crowded.

This is an important moment in our case and we are certain that we always can count on you. We need the solidarity of all good willing and peace-loving people to be free again. This is a political case and no other case of this type has been resolved without the support of the international solidarity of people. The prosecution and the American government know that so they will try again and again to silence our situation.

Thank you so much, brothers and sisters, for being here today and for defending Cuba and the cause of our freedom.

Thank you for standing by Cuba any time and in every corner of the world.

Thank you for being our ears and voices while we are not present.

On behalf of Rene, Fernando, Antonio, Gerardo and I, receive all our gratitude and confidence that with your ideas and initiatives to break these walls, you will help a lot to liberate us sooner than later.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

Han sido nueve años de injusta prisión en estados Unidos, pero también han sido nueve años de una hermosa lucha en los que hemos podido conocer el poder de la solidaridad y el amor.

Durante todo este tiempo hemos conocido a excelentes seres humanos como ustedes, los que están reunidos hoy en Toronto para esta Conferencia Canadá-Estados Unidos Rompiendo el Silencio. Hemos conocido también a maravillosas personas que han estado a nuestro lado todo el tiempo. Gracias a ustedes, estamos seguros que nuestra soledad nunca ha estado tan acompañada.

Este es un importante momento en nuestro caso legal y estamos seguros de que siempre podremos contar con ustedes. Necesitamos de la solidaridad de todas las personas de buenos sentimientos y amantes de la paz para ser libres de nuevo. Este es un caso político y ningún caso de este tipo ha sido resuelto sin el apoyo de la solidaridad internacional de los pueblos. La Fiscalia y el gobierno norteamericano saben eso y por esa razón trataran una y otra vez de silenciar nuestra situación.

Muchas gracias, hermanos y hermanas, por estar aquí hoy y por defender a Cuba y la causa de nuestra liberación.

Gracias por estar al lado de Cuba en todo momento y en cada rincón del mundo. Gracias por ser nuestros oídos y voces cuando nosotros no estamos presentes.

A nombre de Rene, Fernando, Antonio, Gerardo y en el mío propio, reciban toda nuestra gratitud y la confianza en las ideas e iniciativas que sirvan para romper estos muros. Ustedes ayudaran a liberarnos mas temprano que tarde.
