A permanent exhibition on the case of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in the United States was inaugurated on Tuesday at Cuba’s diplomatic headquarter in the United Nations.

The exhibition demands freedom for the “Cuban Five” —Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, René González and Fernando González—, who were subjected to a rigged judicial process, said a press release distributed at the UN headquarter in New York.

Attending the opening ceremony were members of the Cuban community in New York and those of various solidarity-with-Cuba groups in the United States, including Reverend Lucius Walker, head of Pastors for Peace, reported PL.

The exhibition is part of a project that began with the presentation of pictures of important moments in the history of Cuban diplomacy in the UN. That took place during a ceremony marking the 80th birthday of Fidel Castro.

Una muestra gráfica sobre el caso de los Cinco antiterroristas cubanos encarcelados en Estados Unidos fue inaugurada en la sede diplomática de Cuba en Naciones Unidas.

La exposición, con carácter permanente, denuncia y demanda la libertad de Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, René González y Fernando González.

Ellos sufren desde el inicio las irregularidades de un proceso judicial amañado e indecoroso, expresa una nota de prensa circulada en esta sede de la ONU en Nueva York.

La exhibición da continuidad a un proyecto iniciado con una presentación a raíz del cumpleaños 80 del líder de la Revolución Cubana, Fidel Castro, con imágenes de momentos trascendentales para la historia de la diplomacia de la Isla en la ONU.

Al acto de apertura asistieron miembros de la comunidad cubana en Nueva York y de diversos grupos de solidaridad con la nación caribeña en Estados Unidos, entre ellos el reverendo Lucius Walker, de Pastores por la Paz, informó la agencia Prensa Latina.
