Cubadebate offers viewers the video of René González, the first of the Cuban Five freed in the United States, as he leaves Marianna prison in Florida, Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, 4:30 in the morning, in an emotional encounter with his daughters, his father Cándido and his brother Roberto.

“I am ready to continue fighting until I die,” were his first words after embracing and kissing his daughters, Ivette and Irmita, who filmed the moment that they met him as he left the prison.

The graphic testimony was transmitted on the Roundtable program of Cuban Television.

Cubadebate les ofrece el video donde aparece René González, el primero de los Cinco liberados en Estados Unidos, a la salida de la prisión de Marianna, en la Florida, el viernes 7 de octubre de 2011, a las 4:30 de la madrugada, y en un emotivo encuentro con sus hijas, su papá Cándido y su hermano Roberto.

“Listo para seguir luchando hasta que me muera”, fueron sus primeras palabras después de abrazar y besar a sus hijas, Ivette e Irmita, quienes filmaron el momento en que se encuentran con él a la salida de prisión.

El testimonio gráfico fue transmitido por el programa Mesa Redonda Informativa, de la Televisión Cubana.

“My love, my treasure. How are you? … they say that I’m looking great. Your older daughter is here filming. They are both beautiful,” he told his wife Olga Salanueva by telephone — who did not have U.S. permission to travel to René’s side.

He added that on the eve of his release from the prison, he was confined to the “hole” (the punishment cell) by prison officials: “I remained in the hole the rest of the evening, I slept well and they woke me. I jumped up like a spring. Everything was very quick; from the time they opened the hole until I got out: 10 minutes,” René said.

One can also see René singing “El Mayor,” the song by Silvio Rodríguez, while he is with his daughters and brother Roberto in the car that takes him to where he will live in Florida, while he completes the three years of supervised release imposed by judge Joan Lenard.

“I am thinking of Gerardo,” says René, with the dawn of the morning light and the sounds of “El Necio,” in the car, also by Silvio.

The Cuban anti-terrorist activist, together with his lawyer Philip Horowitz, appeared before the officials assigned to supervise his case.

“Mi amor, mi tesoro. ¿Cómo tú andas? (…) dicen ellas que estoy de lo más lindo. Aquí está tu hija mayor tomándome películas. Están lindísimas las dos”, le contó por teléfono a su esposa, Olga Salanueva -quien no obtuvo permiso de EEUU para viajar al lado de René.

Añadió que en vísperas de la salida de la cárcel fue confinado al “hueco” (la celda de castigo) por las autoridades carcelarias: ”Me pasé ahí en el hueco el resto de la noche, dormí bien y me levantaron. Brinqué como un resorte. Todo rapidísimo; desde que me abrieron el hueco hasta que salí: 10 minutos”, dijo.

A René también se le ve cantando “El Mayor”, la canción de Silvio Rodríguez, mientras va con sus hijas y su hermano Roberto en el auto que lo lleva al lugar donde residirá en la Florida, mientras cumple un régimen de libertad provisional por tres años impuesto por la jueza Joan Lenard.

“Me estoy acordando de Gerardo”, dijo René mientras ya se ve la luz de la mañana y suena en el audio del carro “El Necio”, también de Silvio.

El antiterrorista cubano se presentó hoy junto a su abogado Philip Horowitz ante las autoridades designadas para supervisar su caso.
