Nothing Will Bend Our Will May Day message from Fernando Gonzalez on behalf of the Cuban Five May 1, 2007 We are honored to address you, the heroic people marching today in one of the few countries in which May Day, International Worker’s Day, is a date for genuine celebration. Gerardo, Antonio, Ramon, Rene and I want you to receive our congratulations and revolutionary salute on this day of unity in defense of the Revolution and Socialism. We are profoundly grateful that this year’s May Day March is also dedicated to the demand for our release. The current US administration, with its lack of a political will to try Luis Posada Carriles for his horrendous crimes, and opening the path to his undeserved and unjust freedom, shows its immorality and hypocrisy and clearly demonstrates its complicity with the terrorism practiced against Cuba during nearly five decades. We want to express our solidarity with the relatives of the victims caused by Posada Carriles’ criminal actions. Together with all of Cuba and together with millions of voices around the world, including in the United States, we express our indignation at such an outrage and demand justice. The revolutionary spirit that you demonstrate is always with us in our struggle. Nothing will bend our will and nothing will weaken our certainty of victory. We will resist all the time that is necessary, and we will be part of that multitude of people in future marches that say YES to the Revolution, to the Party and to Fidel. Long Live the Workers! | Nada nos hará flaquear Mensaje de Fernando González Llort en nombre de los Cinco por el Primero de Mayo 1 de mayo de 2007 Compañeras y compañeros: Nos honra dirigirnos a ustedes, pueblo heroico que desfila hoy en Marcha Combatiente, en uno de los pocos países en el que el Primero de Mayo, Día Internacional de los Trabajadores, es una fecha de genuina celebración. En nombre de Gerardo, Antonio, Ramón, René y en el mío propio, deseamos hacerles llegar nuestra felicitación merecida y el saludo revolucionario, en este día de demostración de unidad, en defensa de la Revolución y el Socialismo. Agradecemos profundamente que esta Marcha Combatiente sea dedicada también a exigir nuestra liberación. La actual administración norteamericana, con su falta de voluntad política para procesar a Posada Carriles por sus horrendos crímenes, abriéndole el camino para su libertad inmerecida e injusta, demuestra su inmoralidad y su hipocresía y pone al descubierto la complicidad del gobierno de Estados Unidos, con el terrorismo practicado contra Cuba durante casi cinco décadas. Expresamos nuestra solidaridad con los familiares de las víctimas ocasionadas por las acciones criminales de Posada Carriles. Junto a toda Cuba y junto a millones de voces en todo el mundo, incluyendo en los Estados Unidos, expresamos nuestra indignación ante tal atropello de la moral y demandamos justicia. El espíritu revolucionario que ustedes patentizan nos acompaña permanentemente en nuestra lucha. Nada nos hará flaquear y nada debilitará nuestra certeza en la victoria. Resistiremos el tiempo que sea necesario, y en futuras marchas seremos parte de esa multitud de pueblo que dice ¡SÍ! a la Revolución, al Partido y a Fidel. ¡Vivan los Trabajadores! ¡Viva la Revolución cubana! ¡Viva Fidel! ¡Patria o Muerte, Venceremos!
