Havana, Jun 11 (Prensa Latina) The Third International Youth Meeting in Solidarity with the Cuban Five imprisoned in the United States almost 13 years ago begins in this capital its three-day program.

The participants at the biannual meeting will visit on Saturday a community cultural project by the artist José Rodríguez Fuster, who supports the cause of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, Antonio Guerrero and René González.

Recently, at a question from Prensa Latina, the National Bureau member and head of International Relations of the Young Communists Union, Leira Sanchez, emphasized that the response to participate in the event has exceeded expectations.

We expect representatives from all regions of the world, and the position of the contemporaries of our area is very relevant in times of integration and close to the emergence of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, she said.

It is scheduled a conference on the case by the National Assembly of Popular Power, and the presentation of children's theater group La Colmenita with the play Abracadabra.

Four workshops will show the regional experiences in defense of the Five, the use of new technologies in this regard, various caricatures of the so called Humor Rebelde, and discussions about culture and nation.

On the last day of the conference, an interactive forum will be held on the Internet: "Freedom Now, End the Injustice, Release Them Now!" at http://www.foros.cubava.cu between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. local time.

As the closing, an event called Poets for the Freedom of the Five will be held in the Pabellon Cuba fairgrounds, with National Literature Prize winners Miguel Barnet and Nancy Morejon and a special concert.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, Anttoinete Marquez of the United States, who will participate in the event, stated that she would share experiences with other young people from around the world because "it is necessary to mobilize the greatest number of people to free Gerardo, Ramon, Fernando, Antonio and Rene."

La Habana, 11 jun (PL) El III Encuentro Juvenil Internacional de Solidaridad con los cinco antiterroristas cubanos presos en Estados Unidos hace casi 13 años inicia hoy en esta capital su programa de tres días.

Los participantes en la cita bianual visitarán este sábado un proyecto cultural comunitario del artista de la plástica José Rodríguez, Fúster, que apoya la causa de Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González, Antonio Guerrero y René González.

Recientemente, ante una pregunta de Prensa Latina, la integrante del Buró Nacional y responsable de Relaciones Internacionales de la Unión de Jóvenes Comunistas, Leira Sánchez, destacó que la respuesta para asistir al evento ha sobrepasado las expectativas.

Esperamos a representantes de todas las regiones del mundo, y la posición de los contemporáneos de nuestra área resulta muy relevante en momentos de integración y próximo al surgimiento de la Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños, enfatizó.

La causa de los Cinco, como son conocidos a nivel internacional los antiterroristas cubanos presos injustamente desde el 12 de septiembre de 1998, une a todos los jóvenes, recalcó Osnay Colina, también miembro del Buró Nacional de dicha organización.

Está previsto además el desarrollo de una conferencia sobre el caso por parte de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular, y la presentación del grupo de teatro infantil La Colmenita con la obra Abracadabra.

Cuatro talleres mostrarán las experiencias regionales en defensa de los Cinco, el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en ese sentido, diversas caricaturas del llamado Humor Rebelde, y criterios desde los más jóvenes en torno a cultura y nación.

El último día de la reunión acontecerá además el foro interactivo Libertad ahora, Fin a la injusticia. "íLibérenlos YA!" entre las 9:00 y 15:00 hora local con acceso por la dirección electrónica http://www.foros.cubava.cu.

Como cierre se celebrará en el capitalino Pabellón Cuba el espacio Poetas por la libertad de los Cinco, con la presencia de los Premios Nacionales de Literatura Miguel Barnet y Nancy Morejón, y un concierto especial.

Entrevistado por Prensa Latina, el estadounidense Frank Lara, quien participará en el encuentro, destacó que los antiterroristas cubanos dan un gran ejemplo de resistencia y su labor en territorio norteamericano ayudó a proteger la vida de muchas personas.

Hay que trabajar más, recalcó, para divulgar en el mundo la verdad sobre Gerardo, Ramón, Fernando, Antonio y René, detenidos cuando monitoreaban las acciones de grupos anticubanos asentados en Florida.
