Young people from 42 countries studying in Cuba will interrupt their summer vacation to support, with words and actions, the cause of The Cuban Five antiterrorist fighters, imprisoned in the United State since 1998.

In the International Camp Julio Antonio Mella, located in Caimito, it was expected the arrival (Yesterday Monday 17th) of 190 members of the First International Brigade of Foreign Scholars in Solidarity with The Five, in the beginning of an entire week with a productive and exchange activities.

Orlaida Cabrera, from the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP), asserted to AIN (Cuban National Agency) that for the members of the brigade, these days will be a great opportunity to know each others and make relations with their contemporaries of the island, either in the agricultural activities or the chats and the solidarity, sports and recreation meetings.

To the official welcome and the plantation of a friendship tree, tomorrow morning in the camp, there will follow other many actions, specified ICAP director for the attention and work with the foreign scholars.

In that sense she mentioned a forum to claim justice for Rene Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, scheduled for this Wednesday, and another to support the Saharan people, which is represented in the brigade by 15 youngsters who are being trained as technicians in the Special Municipality from the Isle of Youth.

Topics to dialogue and a wider knowledge will also be, Friendship the democracy in Cuba, the youth and the Revolution and the participation in the construction of Socialism, explained Orlaida.

On Sunday, before the farewell and the return to their centres and students’ residencies, the members of this brigade will issue a final declaration and they will pay tribute to the Cuban women in the 49th anniversary of their organization, the FMC (Cuban Women Federarion), and they will announce the call for a literary contest Solidarity with The Five Heroes.

La Habana, 17 ago (AIN) Jóvenes de 42 países que cursan estudios en Cuba interrumpirán sus vacaciones de verano para respaldar, con palabras y hechos, la causa de Los Cinco luchadores antiterroristas cubanos, presos en Estados Unidos desde 1998.

Al Campamento Internacional Julio Antonio Mella, en el municipio habanero de Caimito, llegarán hoy los 190 integrantes de la Primera Brigada Internacional de Becarios Extranjeros en Solidaridad con Los Cinco, en el inicio de toda una semana de productivo quehacer e intercambios.

Orlaida Cabrera, del Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP), aseguró a la AIN que para los brigadistas estos días serán una oportunidad para conocerse y estrechar lazos entre ellos y con sus coetáneos de la Isla, tanto en las labores agrícolas, como en los conversatorios y encuentros de solidaridad, deportivos y festivos.

A la bienvenida oficial y la siembra de un árbol de la amistad, mañana a primera hora en el campamento, seguirán otras muchas acciones, precisó la directora del ICAP para la atención y trabajo con los becarios extranjeros.

En tal sentido mencionó un foro en reclamo de justicia para René González, Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero y Fernando González, previsto para este miércoles, y otro en apoyo al pueblo saharauí, representado en la Brigada por 15 jóvenes que se preparan como técnicos de nivel medio en el municipio especial.

Temas para el diálogo y un mejor conocimiento serán, también, la democracia en Cuba, la juventud en la Revolución y su participación en la construcción del Socialismo, explicó Orlaida Cabrera.

El domingo, antes de la despedida y el retorno a sus centros y residencias estudiantiles, los integrantes de esta Brigada emitirán una declaración final y rendirán homenaje a la mujer cubana, en el aniversario 49 de su organización, la FMC, y se hará pública la convocatoria al concurso literario Solidaridad con los Cinco Héroes.
