Ethereal Words

The response, although it hurts, is that not until today has anyone been able to answer a question which is posed daily: “anything new in the case of the Five?”

The logic would lead one to think that after all this time they would have already returned home. But the government from United States has run counter to all reason and good sense in this case.

That government persists in holding Cuban anti-terrorists under indefinite detention, having confined them for almost for nine years in US federal penitentiaries, while at the same time it provides impunity to Luis Posada Carriles —a self-confessed criminal— who has already popped up in exquisite Miami clubs in the company of another professional in terror: Orlando Bosch Ávila.

Against logic, Emperor George W. Bush was left without a fig leaf when he allowed the monster’s release. “I planted the bomb...so what,” are his ever so infamous words. The dead weigh, wounds bleed, but justice has not been done.

The international structure created to outlaw, suppress and sanction terrorism has been destroyed by the American government’s conduct in the shameless release of Posada Carriles.
