Quito, Oct 4 (Prensa Latina) The book "5 Children 5 Heroes, deprived from their freedom for defending Cuba," was launched in this capital on Thursday with the presence of Ecuadorians in solidarity with the Caribbean country.

The volume includes the slanted trial against the Cuban five, who tried to prevent terrorist attacks against Cuba from US territory, and the human rights violations committed against them by Washington.

Representative of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Leopoldo Valle, praised the struggle of those five Cubans who suffer the most brutal restrictions for defending their homeland.

Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino and Rene Gonzalez were condemned to long sentences in a manipulated trial and they are banned from receiving visits from their children, denounced Valle.

The Cuban official said that the 5th Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, to be held in this capital from October 26 to 28, will study ways to end the mistreatment of those anti terrorist fighters.

The book launching, which took place at Guayasamin Foundation, was attended by Cuban ambassador to Quito Benigno Perez, and members of the Ecuadorian House of Culture and friends of Cuba.

QUITO, 4 de octubre (PL).— El libro "5 Hijos 5 héroes, privados de su libertad por defender a Cuba" fue presentado hoy aquí con la presencia de ecuatorianos solidarios con la mayor de las Antillas.

La obra recoge el proceso judicial amañado y parcializado contra cinco cubanos, que intentaron desde Estados Unidos evitar acciones terroristas contra su país y las violaciones de derechos humados cometidas contra ellos por Washington.

Leopoldo Valle, representante del Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP), destacó la lucha de esos cinco jóvenes que sufren las más brutales restricciones por no renunciar al amor por su patria.

Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González, Ramón Labañino y René González, fueron condenados a severas penas de prisión, en un juicio parcializado y amañado y se les prohíbe recibir hasta la visitas de sus hijos, denunció.

Destacó que el V Encuentro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Solidaridad con Cuba, que se celebrará aquí entre el 26 y 28 de octubre próximo, analizará las vías para reforzar y romper el bloqueo mediático a favor de esos antiterroristas.

El libro, editado por la casa Sureditores, pretende que los ecuatorianos conozcan la injusticia cometida contra Gerardo, Antonio, González, Labañino y González, y sumen sus esfuerzos a reclamar su liberación.

A esta presentación realizada en la Fundación Guayasamín, asistieron el embajador cubano en este país, Benigno Pérez, miembros de la casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana y amigos de la isla caribeña.
