Antonio Guerrero's Drawings Exhibited in Mexico
Jan. 15, 2008 The show "Toda la Patria Esta en la Mujer. Retratos de Patriotas Cubanas" (All the Homeland is in Women. Portraits of Cuban Women) includes reproductions of portraits of the mothers and wives of the Cuban Five and images of Leonor Perez and Mariana Grajales, heroines of the 19th century independence struggle. Also included are fighters of the insurrectional stage, as well as outstanding cultural figures, as Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda, and Dominican settled in Cuba Camila Henriquez Urena. Cuban and Mexican academics, members of the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and officials from the Caribbean Island's embassy, the Fayad Jamis gallery of which exhibits Antonio Guerrero's works, attended the opening of the exhibit, to be run until December 15. Cuban Cultural Attache Boris Luis Gomez, who visited Guerrero in prison during his diplomatic mission to Washington, highlighted the artist's sensibility amid a cruel imprisonment, with frequent punishment and isolation.

20 de noviembre de 2008 Una exposición de dibujos de Antonio Guerrero, uno de Los Cinco Luchadores Antiterroristas Cubanos Presos en Estados Unidos desde hace más de una década, fue inaugurada este jueves en México. La muestra Toda la patria está en la mujer. Retratos de patriotas cubanas contiene reproducciones de los retratos de las madres y esposas de Los Cinco e imágenes de Leonor Pérez y Mariana Grajales, heroínas de la gesta independentista en el siglo diecinueve. También se incluyen dibujos de luchadoras de la etapa insurreccional y de destacadas figuras de la cultura, como Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda y la dominicana establecida en Cuba, Camila Henríquez Ureña. Mexico, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) An exhibition of drawings by Antonio Guerrero, one of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unfairly imprisoned in the United States for over one decade, was opened Thursday in this capital.
