Two events in Vermont to spotlight the Cuban Five
Feb. 9, 2008 The event, a first for the state of Vermont, is in keeping with Vermont Law School’s motto "Law for the Community and the World." The members of the Vermont Law School National Lawyers Guild and Burlington College’s Institute for Civic Engagement have been working hard to educate and motivate their law school community about the case of the "Five." The Vermont Guild believes that greater awareness and participation in the struggle for justice will make the world a better place for all. Como se dicen, "Un Mundo mejor es possible!" Weinglass and La Riva will speak at Chase Hall, Vermont Law School, in South Royalton on Tuesday, February 12 at 5 p.m.. The following day they will repeat the program om Burlington at the Waterfront Theatre, presented by Burlington College, on Wednesday, February 13 at 6 p.m. Both events have been organized by law student Jared Carter, and are sponsored by the National Lawyers Guild. Dos eventos en Vermont para destacar los Cinco
9 de febrero de 2008 La Escuela de Leyes de Vermont División del Gremio Nacional de Abogados, están siendo los anfitriones del abogado Leonard Weinglass y Gloria La Riva, coordinadora del Comité Nacional para Liberar a Los Cinco Cubanos, este 12 de febrero, 2008 en el recinto de la Escuela de Leyes de Vermont. Weinglass y La Riva discutirán su trabajo en la lucha para lograr justicia y la libertad para “Los Cinco Cubanos” erróneamente encarcelados en las prisiones de Los Estados Unidos desde 1998. El evento, el primero en el estado de Vermont, es para mantener la consigna de la Escuela de Leyes “Ley para la Comunidad y el Mundo.” Los miembros de La Escuela de Leyes de Vermont del Gremio Nacional de Abogados, han venido trabajando arduamente de educar y motivar la comunidad estudiantil de la escuela de leyes sobre el caso de “Los Cinco.” El Gremio de Abogados de Vermont cree que el conocimiento y la participación en la lucha por justicia hará del mundo un lugar mejor para todos. Como se dice, "Un Mundo mejor es possible!" Weinglass y La Riva disertarán en el Chase Hall ( salón Chase) Escuela de Leyes de Vermont, En Sur Royalton (South Royalton) el martes 12 de febrero a las 5 p.m. El siguiente día, miércoles 13 a las 6 p.m. repetirán el programa en Burlington en el teatro Waterfront, presentado por el Colegio de Burlington. Vermont Law School’s Student National Lawyers Guild and Burlington College’s Institute for Civic Engagement will be hosting Attorney Leonard Weinglass and Gloria La Riva, director of the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five on February 12th and 13th on the Campus of Vermont Law School and at the Waterfront Theater in Burlington Vermont. Weinglass and La Riva will discuss their work in the struggle to achieve justice and freedom for the "Cuban Five" wrongfully imprisoned in the United States since 1998.
