Message from the Cuban Five to the Ecuadoran people
Oct. 1, 2010 Dear Ecuadoran People, Dear President Rafael Correa: We share in the huge excitement for the feat that you all managed when in just a few hours, with unity and strength, you were able to reverse the attempted fascist coup d'etat. Congratulations on this example of love, unity and patriotism! This event also represents a call to alertness. Other attempts may take place in other countries of ours. It's very important to be organized and ready in order to respond immediately, strongly and radically to all these assassination attempts by the national and international right-wing. America has begun to travel along a new course, that of Bolivarian unity, and we must not allow anyone to stop us! The Cuban people love and admire you. From our five political prisons in the United States we too, defend the courageous citizens revolution and the right of our people to total, definitive national independence, to choose our own destinies. Long live the Ecuadoran people and their dignified President Rafael Correa! Thank you for the example! Onward to victory! The "Cuban Five":

Compartimos la inmensa emocion por la hazana que acaban de realizar, cuando en apenas unas horas, con unidad y firmeza, lograron revertir el intento de golpe de estado fascista. !felicidades por el ejemplo de amor, unidad y patriotismo! Este suceso representa tambien un llamado de alerta. Otras intentonas pudieran estarse fraguando en varios de nuestros paises. Es muy importante estar organizados y listos para responder de manera inmediata, fuerte y radicalmente ante todas estas intenciones de magnicidio de la extrema derecha nacional e internacional. !America ha inciado el camino de las nuevas alamedas, de la unidad Bolivariana, y no podemos permitir que nada ni nadie nos detenga! El pueblo de Cuba les quiere y les admira. Desde cinco prisiones politicas en Estados Unidos, defendemos tambien la valiosa revolucion ciudadana y el derecho de nuestros pueblos a la total y definitiva independencia nacional, a escoger nuestros propios destinos. !Viva el pueblo Ecuatoriano y su digno presidente rafael correa! !Gracias por el ejemplo! !Hasta la victoria siempre!
