Dear friends:

As you surely know, we are in a very important international campaign of dissemination of information about the State Terrorism that our country has suffered since the triumph of the Revolution in 1959, promoted, nurtured and tolerated by the United States government. On October 6th, it will be 35 years since the mid-flight explosion of a Cubana Airlines plane returning from Barbados to Havana. The innocent victims (all civilians) and their relatives have never seen justice.

One of the masterminds of this deplorable and criminal action, Luis Posada Carriles, lives in United States, whose judicial system has failed (does not want) to act with due objectivity so that the crime be punished, and its authors as well.

On the other hand, since last September 12th, when this new phase of the campaign began, The Five Cuban antiterrorist fighters (The Five), our heroes, have completed 13 years of unjust, cruel, inhuman and degrading imprisonment, deprived of their legitimate right to regularly communicate with their families. They have delivered their strength, their intelligence, and their young lives to the commendable duty of preventing their country from actions such the one that occurred in Barbados.

We Cuban women do not want this crime committed against The Five to remain unpunished as well. And as you may know, this is a battle we are waging in every international space for The Five to return to our homeland.

Now, Rene Gonzalez, whose wife was never allowed to visit him in prison, has served his sentence, but he is now the victim of a new legal manipulation, which will make him spend three more years in Miami under “supervised release”. We are attentive to what will be decided next October 7th on his conditional release from prison. We are asking all our friends to support our demand for him to be returned to Cuba to his family and his people. We are also demanding the return of our other four heroes to “the homeland which looks at them proudly”, paraphrasing the words in our national anthem. They have come together as one in their political and moral conditions, in their firm principles. they have stayed together no matter how hard the US injustice system has tried to separate and isolate them.

Since you have supported our causes, the struggles of the Cuban women, we are asking you once again to carry out actions and campaigns for our voices to be heard, to promote a followup to this issue which is so important for our country and our people.

On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the mid-flight explosion of the Cubana Airlines plane on October 6th, resulting from a terrorist action, while we await the terms for René González´s supervised freedom, our friends all over the world may carry out visible actions, with an impact mainly in the media, in the international community, in the United States population, and their diplomatic representations, on their public officials, and their President, who has the authority to set them free, if he wanted to.

Let all the voices, All!! Unite in this call for justice and freedom. We will appreciate all actions you may be able to promote. Please, keep us informed of your actions.

Como seguramente conocen, en nuestro país estamos en medio de una muy importante campaña de información y divulgación internacional sobre el terrorismo de Estado que ha sufrido nuestro pueblo desde el triunfo de la Revolución, promovido, alimentado, tolerado por el gobierno de los Estados Unidos. El próximo 6 de octubre se cumplirán 35 años de la explosión en pleno vuelo de un avión de Cubana de Aviación que regresaba de Barbados a la Habana. Las víctimas inocentes (todas civiles) y los familiares de los mismos, nunca alcanzaron a ver la justicia.

Uno de los autores de esa deplorable y criminal acción, Luis Posada Carriles, vive en los Estados Unidos y el Sistema Judicial de ese país no ha sido capaz de actuar (no ha querido) con la objetividad debida para que el crimen sea castigado y así sus autores.

Por otro lado, desde el pasado día 12 de septiembre en que se inicio esta nueva etapa de la Campaña por los cinco cubanos luchadores antiterroristas, nuestros Héroes, han cumplido 13 años de injusta prisión, con un trato cruel, inhumano, degradante; privados del legítimo derecho de comunicarse de manera regular con sus familiares. Ellos han entregado sus fuerzas, su inteligencia, sus vidas jóvenes, al encomiable deber de prevenir a su Patria de acciones como la de Barbados.

Nosotras las mujeres cubanas, no queremos que este crimen cometido contra los Cinco, quede también impune y como sabes, es una batalla que libramos en cada espacio internacional para que regresen a nuestra Patria.

Ahora René González, cuya esposa no ha podido visitarlo en prisión, cumple su condena; pero es víctima de una nueva manipulación legal, que le hará permanecer tres años de libertad supervisada en Miami. Estamos atentas a lo que se decida el próximo día 7 de octubre sobre las condicionales para su salida de prisión. Queremos que todas nuestras amigas apoyen la exigencia de que regrese a Cuba, con su familia, con su pueblo. Queremos que los otros cuatro, que han demostrado ser uno solo en sus condiciones políticas y morales, en sus sólidos principios; que han permanecido unidos por más que se han esforzado en separarlos y aislarlos, también regresen a "La Patria que los contempla orgullosa" como dicen las notas de nuestro Himno Nacional.

Les pedimos, por su identificación demostrada con nuestro país, con las luchas de nuestro pueblo, con las luchas de las mujeres cubanas; que encaminen una campaña, acciones para que nuestras voces sean escuchadas, que promuevan un seguimiento a este asunto que tanta importancia tiene para nuestro país y nuestro pueblo.

Sería muy bueno que el próximo día 6, en el aniversario 35 de la explosión del avión de Cubana como resultado de una acción terrorista, y en vísperas de que sean pronunciadas las condicionales para la libertad supervisada de René González, nuestras amigas en todo el mundo puedan realizar acciones con visibilidad, sobre todo que tengan un impacto en los medios, en la comunidad internacional en la población de Estados Unidos, en sus representaciones diplomáticas, en sus funcionarios públicos, en su Presidente, que tendría la facultad, si quisiera, de ponerlos en libertad.

Que todas las voces ¡!todas!!, se unan a este grito de justicia y libertad. Agradeceremos cualquier acción que puedan promover y esperamos nos mantengan informadas al respecto.
