The organizations that make up the Alianza Martiana are pleased to announce that today, Monday, Jan. 24, an ad by the Alianza Martiana, demanding freedom for the Cuban Five, was published in the print editions of The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald. It is the same advertisement demanding freedom for the Five that was placed on a billboard in Miami on Jan. 11.

On that occasion, due to intimidation by the extreme rightwing, the company that owns the billboard withdrew the billboard 24 hours after it was placed. This shows once more, the intolerant, wrathful and anti-democratic character of the Cuban-American extreme right in Miami.

The published ads of the Alianza Martiana today in The Miami Herald and in El Nuevo Herald are one more example of our uncompromising commitment with justice and our demand that freedom be granted to the Cuban Five immediately through a presidential pardon.

The national campaign in the United States and the worldwide campaign in countries on every continent is widening and deepening. Our example here in Miami will give incentive to the rest of the worldwide movement that demands the immediate freedom of the Five.

We will not cease in our efforts until the Five are free.

Las organizaciones que integran la Alianza Martiana se complacen en hacer público que hoy, lunes, 24 de enero, se publicó un anuncio de la Alianza Martiana exigiendo la libertad de los Cinco en las ediciones impresas de The Miami Herald y de El Nuevo Herald. Es el mismo anuncio exigiendo la libertad de los Cinco que fue puesto en una valla en Miami el 11 de enero pasado.

En aquella ocasión, debido a las intimidaciones de la extrema derecha la compañía dueña de la valla tuvo que retirar el anuncio en la valla a las 24 horas de haber sido puesto. Demostrando así, una vez más, la extrema derecha cubano americana en Miami su carácter intolerante, iracundo y anti democrático.

Los anuncios publicados por la Alianza Martiana hoy en The Miami Herald y en El Nuevo Herald son otra prueba más de nuestro ineludible compromiso con la justicia y nuestra exigencia que se le otorgue la libertad inmediata a los Cinco a través de un indulto presidencial.

La campaña nacional en Estados Unidos y la campaña mundial en el resto de los países en todos los continentes se amplía y se profundiza. El ejemplo nuestro aquí en Miami incentivará al resto de ese movimiento mundial que exige la inmediata libertad de los Cinco.

No cejaremos en nuestro empeño hasta verlos libres.
