OPEN DOOR

At times I cannot distinguish between oblivion
and memory which is why I have turned each portion
of what I have loved and what I love now
into a space of light.

In the stillness I touch my wounded heart
and feel its gentle claim.
When I call up the future I do so
with all the weight of passed time.

In my solitary cup spill
rivers of imprisoned grief,
a furious swift torrent.

I try to understand, sooner or later,
the reason and love of the world
and I meditate on a door opened by my hand.

THE TRUTH NAMES ME

With the taste of locks and walls
deposited in my unfathomable mouth
I want to name the brandished integrity
of my invincible and unique tenderness.

I want to name the patrimony of my life
that clashed with hard rock
and continued to preserve its heritage
despite blow and wound.

I want to name all the dazzling things
that faithful love plants in my chest
throughout the tenure of this shadow.

I want to name without fear, reserve or spite
the hate, the crime, the charlatans
because, doing it, the truth names me.

PUERTA ABIERTA

A veces no distingo entre el olvido
y el recuerdo, por ello, cada tramo
de lo que amé y de lo que ahora amo
en espacio de luz he convertido.

En la quietud el corazon herido
toco y le siento su gentil reclamo.
Cuando yo llamo al porvenir lo llamo
con el peso de todo el tiempo ido.

Ríos de la amargura carcelaria,
un torrente furioso y expedito,
me caen en esta copa solitaria.

Trato de comprender, tarde o temprano,
razón y amor del mundo, y medito
en una puerta abierta por mi mano.

A VERDAD ME NOMBRA

Quiero nombrar la integridad blandida
por mi invencible y única ternura
con el sabor a muro y cerradura
impregnado en mi boca desmedida.

Nombrar el patrimonio de mi vida
que se estrelló contra la roca dura
y supo conservar su herencia pura
a pesar del gran golpe y de la herida.

Nombrar todas las cosas deslumbrantes
que el fiel amor colocara en mi pecho
durante la existencia de esta sombra.

Nombrar el odio, el crimen, los farsantes
sin miedo, sin reserva, sin despecho
porque al hacerlo la verdad me nombra.
